The Wednesday BBQ FEST Report
So far, so good. The food was wonderful and the fellowship grand! The only hiccup was the decision by Memphis In May to stop all beer sales from D Canale at 7pm!!!! This is insane. Smilin’ Chuck saved the day by borrowing 5 cases from a nearby tent. I spoke to the D Canale people and they said it was the MIM brain trust’s choice to cut off sales that day. They also reported that sales will be cut off at 10pm the rest of the weekend. Oh well, that's the LAST TIME we will run out of kegs.
Hats off to Pete and Jenny for their scrumptious eats. The chicken was awesome!!
The bag-o, corn hole to us Yankees, was oft used and thoroughly enjoyed. The Don ordered and purchased a custom made Bag-O game, complete with the team logo emblazoned on it. I highly recommend that anyone playing bag-o should avoid squaring off against Pete, his aim is deadly.
For the uninitiated here is link to the history, rules, and other minutia of the game. In the north the game is mainstay at tailgates and family functions. The game is well suited to the enjoyment of cold libations and “talking trash”. Maybe if we all get good enough we can go pro. Lest you think I’m kidding here is a STORY about the “world championship”. It is bound to be on ESPN’s OCHO sometime soon. You can even join the American Cornhole Association. I love that we have enough free time in America that people can start things this. All it takes is too much free time, a web site, and a dream!!!! Is this the sign of the Empire at its height or its decline.
There were very little shenanigans last night the Piglicious Headquarters, due to it being family night. We shall see what the rest of the weekend holds.
