World War II at night in DC
I know I haven't posted in almost a month. Ehh, is your day really any worse for wear?
I'm really enjoying my summer in DC. I can not believe that this is my 6th summer at SPS and in DC. Time really does fly.
For the most part the summer here hasn't changed all that much since last summer. I say that without any disdain what so ever. My time up here has allowed me to drop into a great rhythm and life in DC.
I've already played a couple games of softball with the Ugly Mugs, the congressional softball team that allows me to moonlight with them the last six years. Allow there are many new members we've had a great time after the games. Incidentally we won them both.
I've been able to hang with the high school and college friends. We had some dinners and some drinks out on the town. An added bonus is that one of the Memphis gang was in town for a teacher's workshop so he added a few days to the trip so we could hang out.

Work has been great. It's great catching up with old colleagues and meeting new ones. The students this summer are as sharp as ever and working diligently to keep up our crazy pace.
The program gets sharper each year. The students are working great case studies, old staples and some new ones. They traipse all over the District getting to spend time with policy makers and life long civil servants that transcend a lot of the partisanship of this town.
