Wednesday, June 7th
Erie, Pa
Today was a day to take in the culinary delights that represent Erie. Lunch at the Oakwood Cafe. This great tavern in my old neighborhood has been part of me growing up, and now out. Many of our little league baseball and middle school football banquets were hoasted here. A very large draft of Yuengling Lager goes for a pricey $2. During happy hour it’s like $1.50. The delight however is the Reuben Sandwich. It is only $4.50 and its so big I have trouble finishing it. Yes, me. The perch sandwich is also renowned but that’s if you go there twice in an Erie visit. I often do.
